Fits one size smaller than other brands, so I had to return. Can't say more than that until I get a larger pair.

for their intended application - light trails and fire roads - these are fantastic shoes. yes, they fit very close to the foot. i would not call then 'small' since i wear the same size in these as in other shoes. but they are intended to be minimalistic, close fitting, thinner than typical midsoles, no removable insoles. i have not had any of the durability problems mentioned by others, and have been wearing mine for almost a year. i like them so much i bought another pair when i saw them on sale, just in case mine wore out prematurely and/or vasque discontinued them in the future. those are still sitting in my closet, waiting for their day. meanwhile my first pair keeps putting on the miles. 5 stars.

I have purchased the VASQUE brand in the past and have been satisfied with them. I have some mild foot problems, and normally buying Merrell exclusively. That being said i was looking at these and decided to take a chance. I read many good reviews, and many bad reviews so it was hard to make a decision. These are the facts about this shoe: #1. It fits small. Maybe not a half size small, but small. It is more narrow than other shoes of medium width. #2. It is very nice looking. I was pleased with how it looked and the quality of the materials used. #3. It does NOT have a removable insole. What it has is a hard "air cushioned" space between your foot and the sole. Well i didn't feel any air cushioning in these shoes. I tried them on for a few minutes and they already hurt my feet. I am really surprised that a company of Vasque's stature would sell a product like this. Terrible footbed. As i wanted a red accent running shoe and didn't find any Merrell's to my liking i'm going to give the North Face Double Track a try.
